The military air and missile defense forces of the Russian military base in Armenia have summed up the 2014 results of their combat-readiness.

The pilots of the military base have conducted more than 1,000 hours of flight with light fighter planes, and 550 hours of flight with helicopters, informed the press service of the Southern Military Okrug (district) of the Russian Federation Armed Forces.

In addition, 40 percent of these flights were conducted under limited nighttime visibility.

“The combat-readiness of the divisions has increased by an average of 20 percent, as compared to last year,” stated Colonel Aleksandr Petrov, the commander of the aviation unit of the Russian military base in Armenia.
