A gunman who took hostages in a cafe in Sydney and displayed an Islamic flag may have a bomb, representative of police told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

According to police officers, the cafe where hostages are kept may be mined. The police beleive that there can be up to 50 hostages in the cafe.

A terrorist and hostages are inside of Lindt cafe in Martin Palace complex located in the center of Sydney. The building is cardoned by police. According to the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent, the central part of Sydney, including the building of opera and headquarters of one of the local TV channles have been evacuated because of a blast threat.
