YEREVAN. – Armenian parliament speaker Galust Sahakyan said opposition's boycotting the special session of parliament will “lead to nothing”.

The MPs decided to boycott the session following speaker's decision not to interrupt debates to discuss an attack on ANC deputy Aram Manukyan.

“Boycott and failure are different things. You can boycott a bill or an initiative, but not to attend the session is an attempt to ruin the session. However, the attempt failed,” he added.

Sahakyan stressed he had already held consultations with the heads of factions.

“We proposed a statement on the incident with Aram Manukyan. The problems must be solved in this way. Moreover, the major part of the raised issues is acceptable to us,” he emphasized.

As reported earlier, an unidentified person assaulted and hit Aram Manukyan, an MP from the Armenian National Congress, in the entrance of the building where he lives. In addition, several days ago Karabakh war veterans Razmik Petrosyan, Manvel Yeghiazaryan and Suren Sargsyan were beaten.
