YEREVAN. – The son of Armenia’s Ambassador to Georgia Yuri Vardanyan has been set free, a source told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to a source, the young man was discharged on parole.

Former Minister Yuri Vardanyan’s eldest son, Davit Vardanyan, 29, was arrested on the Iran-Armenia border. Davit Vardanyan was detained while attempting to smuggle drugs on the border.  

The son of Armenia's Ambassador to Georgia has been sentenced to four years and six months in jail on the charges of drug smuggling.
