YEREVAN. – The year 2014 was the most breakthrough year in Armenia in terms of the creation of effective social systems, but it was also the most difficult year in terms of implementing reforms in the country.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Artem Asatryan, stated the abovementioned at Tuesday’s year-ending press conference.

“Especially this year was marked in terms of social dialogue, since the implemented reforms referred to the economic, [and] the societal life, and they received great resonance among the society. It certainly should be noted [, however,] that these reforms were not understood,” the minister said, in particular.

But, in Asatryan’s words, this year we can speak about the results of the programs that are implemented in Armenia for that past three to four years; especially the “e-pension system.”

“The year was a year of social dialogue, also in the sense that numerous systems were introduced in consideration of the recommendations by our citizens themselves,” the minister noted.

Artem Asatryan added, however, that there still are unresolved matters.
