YEREVAN. – The World Trade Organization (WTO)-Armenia collaboration working group is being set up within the framework of the—Russia-led—Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He added that the aforesaid group will comprise representatives from the ministries and agencies that determine the economic policy of the EEU member countries (Armenia, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan).

“The process of setting up the working group has already begun. It will discuss Armenia’s cooperation with the WTO, in light of the [country’s] EEU accession,” Karayan noted.

After Armenia’s joining the Eurasian Economic Union and the resultant change in the customs duties, the country will need to conduct talks with the World Trade Organization member countries which might declare a violation of their interests when conducting trade with Armenia.
