YEREVAN. – An increase in the public transport fare should not be expected in capital city Yerevan, the Transport and Communication Minister of Armenia, Gagik Beglaryan, told reporters on Friday.

He recalled that although there was a talk on this matter in early 2014, too, proper explanations were given.

“The result led to the fact that the fare is the same today as it was previously,” Beglaryan added.

The minister reminded, however, that the Yerevan public transport fares are not under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport and Communication, and that the Yerevan Municipality determines these prices.

Gagik Beglaryan noted that his ministry is in charge of solely the intercity and interregional public transportation.
