STEPANAKERT. – The Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense (MOD) information, according to which the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army (NKR DA) allegedly carried out a sabotage attempt in the direction of Aghdam city, is false. The NKR MOD press service noted the aforementioned in a statement it disseminated on Saturday.

“As for Arsen Baghdasaryan being taken captive [by Azerbaijan], the DA [hereby] informs that, being a contract military serviceman of the Defense Army, this person has voluntarily deserted, on a regular basis, the place his permanent [military] deployment, for which he was temporarily expelled from [military] service.

“Details of the incident are being checked,” the NKR MOD press service statement specifically reads.

The Azerbaijani media had disseminated information on the alleged capture of a Nagorno-Karabakh Republic military serviceman.

Citing the Azerbaijan MOD press service, Haqqin.az news agency of Azerbaijan had reported that an incident had occurred last night in the direction of Aghdam city, and as a result, Armenian soldier Arsen Baghdasaryan was taken captive.
