YEREVAN. – The health condition of military serviceman Hovhannes Avanesyan, who was wounded as a result of the attack by the Azerbaijani special military divisions on Friday morning, is very critical.

Armenia MOD Central Clinical Military Hospital Director Aram Asaturyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He noted that the soldier had suffered multiple injuries, he is still under the influence of medicine, but he will be brought around on Saturday.

“He has a quite serious spinal injury; we are still fighting for his life,” Asaturyan added.  

As reported earlier, the special divisions of the Azerbaijani army had launched an attack, on Friday at around 9am, in the direction of several military positions of the Berd area of Armenia’s Tavush Region.    

But being discovered on time by the corresponding divisions of the Armenian army, there began a battle which lasted about half an hour.  

As a result, the adversary was driven back, having suffered losses and not carrying out its military task.

But unfortunately, the Armenian side had two casualties and wounded. Lieutenant Karen Galstyan and Private Artak Sargsyan were killed.
