YEREVAN. – A criminal case has been instituted on the deaths of the Armenian military servicemen, who were killed as a result of Friday’s assault by the Azerbaijani special military divisions, and in the direction of several military positions of the Berd area of Armenia’s Tavush Region.

According to preliminary data, a sabotage and intelligence-gathering team of the adversary launched an attack, on Friday at around 9am, in the direction of a military outpost of a protection area of an Armenian military unit, informed the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

Lieutenant Karen Galstyan, and Private Artak Sargsyan were killed as a result of the gunshot wounds they sustained during the resultant military operations.

Private Hovhannes Avanesyan also sustained a gunshot wound, and he is in very critical condition.

The Military Investigation General Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal case in connection with this incident.
