YEREVAN. – Newly appointed Ambassador of Qatar to Armenia Ali Bin Hamad Al Sulaiti  handed over the copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian during a ceremony on Monday.

Minister Nalbandian congratulated Ambassador on his appointment and wished success in his endeavor. The Foreign Minister expressed hope that the Ambassador would make his contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

Ambassador thanked for the reception and noted that Qatar attaches great importance to stable development of relations with Armenia. Ali Bin Hamad Al Sulaiti  assured he would do everything for strengthening of relations with Armenia. 

The sides noted existing potential for the development of bilateral ties. In this context, they pointed out importance of implementing arrangements reached during the meeting of Armenian and Qatar foreign ministers in the margins of the Munich press conference, importance of establishing direct communication between the capitals, development of tourism and holding a meeting of inter-governmental commission.

They exchanged views on regional and international issues. Minister Nalbandian briefed Ambassador on the settlement of Karabakh conflict. 

Ambassador conveyed an invitation from Qatar Foreign Minister to visit Qatar.
