YEREVAN. – The American ContourGlobal company has not yet applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia for the operating license for the Vorotan Hydro Cascade, Commission Chairman Robert Nazaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He noted that after the changes that were made in the contract on the sale of the cascade, the company was to submit an application to the commission with respect to being issued an operating license.

“We expect news from them,” Nazaryan added.

The Vorotan Hydro Cascade comprises three electric power plants. The Government of Armenia was the 100-percent shareholder of the Vorotan Hydroelectric Power Plant. In November 2013, however, the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia had confirmed the deal to sell the cascade to the American ContourGlobal company, which had expressed a readiness to invest $180 million. But the deal has not been signed to this day.
