YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan pushed for serious measures with import of medicine from the Eurasian Union members and other countries.

The Cabinet discussed draft decision on regulating the process of medicine import from the Eurasian Union that was submitted by Health Minister Armen Muradyan.

“There is a serious concern and dissatisfaction. I instructed the Minister of Health and the relevant structures to make a common decision on this issue. This should be a priority for us, as there is public concern,” PM said.

According to Muradyan, the decision must be made since medications imported from the Eurasian Union do not undergo customs control, do not pass laboratory examination and have no documents envisaged by government's decision. This, according to the minister, includes the risks of imports of unlicensed and counterfeit medicine.
