YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, met with a delegation led by Baqir Jabr al-Zubeidi, the Minister of Transportation of Iraq.

The PM noted that Armenian-Iraqi relations are developing successfully in recent times. He also underscored the launch of the Iraqi Airways flights to and from Armenia. As per Abrahamyan, these flights will give new impetus to the development of bilateral collaboration, including in the tourism sector. The Premier also stressed that there is great potential in making the trade and economic ties grow deeper, and highlighted the need to expand business relations.

The Iraqi transportation minister, for his part, noted that the government of his country is greatly interested in deepening cooperation with Armenia.

The interlocutors also discussed several other matters of mutual interest.
