YEREVAN. – Eleven percent of the respondents of a survey conducted in Armenia have responded “definitely yes” to the query on whether the country’s recent accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) was desired.

Director of the Gallup International Association Armenia Office, Aram Navasardyan, stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Monday, as he presented the results of the survey which they had conducted in November 2014, and among 1,067 people.

As per Navasardyan, another 53 percent of the respondents said “probably yes” to the same question.

“That is, in general, this makes up about 64 percent, which is consistent with the results of the previous surveys,” he added.

In response to the next query, 45 percent said the devaluation of the Russian ruble and the fall in the oil prices will definitely have a negative impact on their families and Armenia.

“[Another] 21 percent responded, ‘it probably will affect badly,’ Navasardyan stated. “ [A total of] 88 percent of the respondents believe this will badly affect the economy of Armenia.”
