The Russian State Duma Committee on the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots, and the Armenian National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations will convene a joint session on March 28 in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

The chairman of the aforementioned State Duma committee, Leonid Slutsky, told about the above-said to reporters on Friday.

In his words, the Armenian and Russian MPs plan to discuss Eurasian integration, migration, and centenary of the Armenian Genocide, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

In addition, the State Duma delegation is expected to attend a meeting of the Armenian-Russian joint commission that follows the course of the investigation into the recent tragedy in Armenia’s Gyumri city, as Russian soldier Valery Permyakov stands accused in the brutal murder of the Avetisyan family in the city.

“It is planned that the Russian MPs will visit Gyumri and lay wreaths to the graves of the Avetisyan family members,” Slutsky added.
