YEREVAN. – Karapet Guloyan has been appointed governor of Armenia’s Kotayk Province.

The respective decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet session.

Guloyan will replace Aram Harutyunyan in this post.

Karapet Guloyan is the son of businessman Murad Guloyan, and the son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) ex-Chairman, MP and oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan.

Until his appointment as governor, Karapet Guloyan held the office of the Mayor of Abovyan City in the Kotayk Province.

It is noteworthy that on March 5, when Tsarukyan had announced that he was quitting the PAP and politics, in general, the father and son Guloyan likewise had quit the PAP.
