YEREVAN. – The presidents of four countries—France, Russia, Cyprus, and Serbia—will be on hand at the Armenian Genocide Centennial remembrance events to be held in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Armenia Presidential Chief of Staff Vigen Sargsyan, who is also chairman of the organizing committee for the centenary commemorations, noted the abovementioned at a press conference on Monday.

He added that the President of Cyprus will visit Armenia together with the president of the House of Representatives of his country.

“The other delegations will attend the [genocide remembrance] events at the level of the representatives and presidents of their countries,” Sargsyan said. “The leaders of many countries have noted that this is the 100th anniversary of a crime that is committed against the whole of humanity.”

It is known that the President of Germany on Thursday will participate in a Genocide memorial event in capital city Berlin.

“The Holy See will be represented at the level of cardinals; that is, [at the] ministerial [level],” the Armenian official stated, and added: “[But] the President of the Czech Republic noted that he will have a meeting at the Vatican on that day; so he cannot attend the [commemorative] events to be held in Yerevan.”
