Russia's State Duma may adopt a statement on the centennial of the Armenian Genocide on Friday, April 24.
The document will be introduced by Russian parliament's committee on CIS affairs, chairman of the committee Leonid Slutsky told TASS.
The lawmakers “will express deep sympathy to the fraternal Armenia in connection with the centennial anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, as well as other nations affected by the tragic events of the First World War”.
“We believe that complicated issues in history need to be resolved by peaceful means, including diplomatic efforts - for the sake of lasting peace and security in the world,”Slutsky said.
