The municipality of the Syrian capital city of Damascus, on the occasion of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, named a town square after the genocide victims.

The Damascus City Hall, ahead of Friday, April 24—i.e. the day of the genocide anniversary—, expressed solidarity with Armenians by naming Armenian Genocide Victims’ Square the square in the Bab Tuma borough of the Christians of the Syrian capital city, reported the Arabic Elfar website.
