The Russian Federation State Duma adopted on Friday, April 24—i.e. the day of the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide—, a statement on the occasion of the centenary of this genocide.

“The State Duma extends its deep condolences to fraternal Armenia, in connection with the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, and to other nations that suffered during the tragic events in the First World War.

“It considers that the complicated matters of history and the international disputes need to be resolved by peaceful means, including diplomatic efforts, for the sake of establishing sustainable peace and security around the planet,” the State Duma statement specifically reads, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.
