During Pozner program, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan told how he invited Turkey’s President Erdogan to come to capital city Yerevan for attending the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemoration events.

“This invitation wasn’t merely a formal step. I was inviting Turkey’s President so that we could together commemorate the victims, honor their memory and thereby take joint actions against the repetition of such crimes in the future. Thе call following such meeting would be very important,” he said adding that he “was almost sure that Erdogan wouldn’t come”, but because of 1 per cent probability considered it his duty to invite Erdogan.

Responding to the question whether Erdogan received the invitation, Sargsyan said that the response was that they had set April 24 as the date for celebrating the battle at Gallipoli.
