YEREVAN. – At this stage Turkey has suffered a defeat in propaganda struggle, member of ARF Dashnaktsutyun Giro Manoyan told reporters on Wednesday.

The international reaction to the Armenian Genocide Centennial was more powerful than expected, and this was prompted by remarks by Pope Francis as well as inadequate stance by Turkey.

“There were presidents present at the events in Turkey, but it is clear that the international reaction did not meet their expectations,” Manoyan emphasized.

This year there will be some processes related to the problem of reparation. First it is Perincek vs. Switzerland case in the European Court of Human Rights. The second is a lawsuit by Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia demanding for return of Sis residence.

In addition, the state commission dealing with the Armenian Genocide Centennial events is working on a package of documents.

“The sixth session is set for September, and I am confident that a report on documents with legal demands will be presented,” he added.
