YEREVAN. – Armenia and Georgia managed to settle all issues on new bridge of friendship over Debed river, Armenian Deputy Transport Minister Artur Arakelyan said.
In addition, the Georgian side agreed to fund around half of the amount estimated at 10 million euro. The preliminary ratio of Armenia and Georgia funding is 40/60. The Armenian part of funding will be provided at the expense of the loan from the European Bank of Construction and Development (EBRD).
The designer and the contractor will be chosen by a joint tender commission. In addition, the parties agreed to facilitate the border crossing regime for employees and exempt building materials from customs duties.
Presumably the construction works may last year and a half, more precise timing will be determined after the project is finalized.
