The Turkish media described as “shock” the Luxemburg Chamber of Deputies’ (parliament) adoption of a resolution on recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Accordingly, the Dunya Gazetesi website wrote that yet another country called 1915 “genocide.”

CNN Turk likewise widely covered this news, and stressed that the parliament of Luxembourg called what occurred in 1915 “genocide.”

Pro-government Yeni Safak daily wrote that a scandalous decision was made in the Luxembourg parliament. The newspaper recalled, however, that the aforesaid resolution notes that it is not a hostile act against Turkey.

Milliyet reported that even though the parliament of Luxembourg recognized 1915 as “genocide,” it thanked Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu for extending condolences to the grandchildren of the Genocide victims.

And the Internethaber website headlined this news, “Big shock for Turkey.”
