Few people attended the rally which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held in Izmir city, and the Turkish press widely covered this development.

Even though the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) had secured a large turnout to its Izmir rally in 2014, this time it was unable to fill a stadium, reported Sozcu daily of Turkey.

It is noted that, as a result of a low turnout, the rally, which was held in the 70,000-capacity stadium of Izmir, started after a one-hour delay.

Solely about 10,000 people attended this event in the stadium.
