YEREVAN. - Armenia cannot get gas from Iran at a cheaper price than it does from Russia today, Armenian Energy Minister Yervand Zakharyan said at the Parliament Wednesday, responding to the question of Heritage MP Zaruhi Postanjyan.

According to him, the statements that Iran can sell its gas to Armenia at a cheaper price than that at which the Republic receives it today are groundless. Armenia gets the cheapest gas available in the region, if we consider the prices at the border, the minister said.

“Receiving Iranian gas at that price is totally excluded. We didn’t conduct talks with the Iranian side, considering that it would be merely superfluously,” the minister said.
