The parties haven’t yet come to compromise over the final document of the Eastern Partnership Riga Summit. The final version of the text will be available only on May 22, an informed diplomatic source reports.

“Besides the statement regarding the Crimea, there are also certain discrepancies over the questions on the possibility of a member joining the EU and their position, i.e. proposals were made to mention in the document the possibility of joining the EU,” TASS reports.

According to the source, “the parties haven’t yet come to compromise over the document.” “It is actually in a floating condition. The text will be ready tomorrow,” he said, confirming that a number of members, specifically Armenia and Belarus, ‘have admonitions to the final statement.’

Answering the question whether the text will be revised, the source said: “Naturally, the declaration will be adopted, and it should be consensual, so we work on the text as well.”

Earlier, western media reported that Belarus and Armenia declined to sign the final document for the statement regarding the Crimea. The source pointed that so far ‘the fourth paragraph had included the phrase ‘annexation of Crimea.’
