The grand opening of a monument dedicated to the soldiers killed during Karabakh and Great Partiotic Wars took place Saturday in Armenia’s Kotayk Province Bjni community.

The event was attended by Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Yerkrapah Volunteer Union commander Manvel Grigoryan, Syunik Province governor Suren Khachatryan, Kotayk Province governor Karapet Guloyan, Yerkrapah Volunteer Union and Karabakh War Veterans NGO representatives, as well as other guests.

The opening of the monument, eternalizing the glory and feats of the killed soldiers, was carried out by Seyran Ohanyan and Manvel Grigoryan. This was followed by consecration ceremony. 

In his speech, Seyran Ohanyan stressed that any monument and event of that kind is first of all a tribute to those devoted to their homeland, also serving as an open patriotic lesson for the [young] generations.  He also said that for all Armenians the Karabakh War was a sacred struggle, in which the Armenian people were able to win and save their identity, ending up with the consistent development of two Armenian republics.
