Former Turkish police chief was arrested for the second time in a separate investigation into the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, Today's Zaman reported.

Ali Fuat Yilmazer is already in jail as a part of an operation against police.

Earlier Yilmazer said Istanbul police was responsible for failing to protect Hrant Dink. Former police chief said he was not serving in Istanbul and called “slander” the fact that he is being connected to the murder.

Hrant Dink was the founder and chief editor of Agos Armenian weekly of Istanbul, and he was killed on January 19, 2007 in front of the weekly’s office, by Ogun Samast. The ongoing trials into Dink’s murder, however, have not yet exposed the architects of this assassination.
