YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Friday attended official opening of the office of the “Wikimedia Armenia” Scientific-Educational NGO.

The President toured the office and got familiarized with the activities and future plans of Wikimedia Armenia. Sargsyan was informed that the objective of this NGO is to promote the Wiki projects’ dissemination and development in Armenia and the region, and to publicize the concept of free knowledge.

In addition, Serzh Sargsyan participated in a discussion on the Wiki projects’ development in Armenia.

Next, the President visited and toured the Armenia national office of Mir (World/Peace) Interstate TV, which broadcasts in Russian. Sargsyan was informed that the programs of this national office present Armenia to around 162 million viewers of Mir television.
