YEREVAN. – The Technical Safety Testing Laboratory of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia has officially opened Wednesday in capital city Yerevan.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, Armen Yeritsyan, also was on hand at the event.

The new laboratory is equipped with modern instruments, and this will enable to expand its scope of activities.

In addition, a testing station for international-standard hotel doors is created in this lab.

As per the director of the National Center of Technical Security of the aforesaid ministry, Ashot Petrosyan, this laboratory meets international standards.

“This is the first such laboratory in the region,” noted Petrosyan. “All [hotel] doors and windows need to be tested here.”

He added that they have reached an agreement with the minister that letters be sent to Georgia and Iran, so that people from these countries also may come to Armenia and use of their services.
