YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Thursday received a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Lubomír Zaorálek.

First, the PM congratulated Zaorálek for the opening of the Czech embassy in Armenia, and expressed the hope that this diplomatic mission will contribute to the development of bilateral ties. Abrahamyan also praised the level of Armenian-Czech political relations, and underscored the need to deepen economic collaboration. In addition, the Armenian premier highlighted the paying of such mutual visits.

At the same time, the interlocutors stated that the Armenian prime minister’s recent official visit to the Czech Republic was productive.

Next, the parties spoke about the avenues for the development of economic collaboration, and they expressed a conviction that there is great potential for the implementation of joint investment projects. In this connection, Zaorálek informed that a group of Czech businessmen are interested in carrying out projects in Armenia.

The Czech FM also reflected on Armenia-European Union relations, and he noted that his country stands ready to assist in the further development of these ties.

Hovik Abrahamyan and Lubomír Zaorálek also discussed regional matters. In this connection, the Czech FM stated the need for a pacific settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and solely through negotiations within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
