YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Friday received Georgia’s Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani, and Minister of Corrections, Probation and Legal Assistance Giorgi Mgebrishvili.  

First, the President welcomed the guests and their participation in the first Armenian-Georgian Forum on Legal Cooperation, which was held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

Sargsyan noted that the high-level Armenia-Georgia political discourse and cooperation is getting deeper each year. In this context, the Armenian President underscored the relations between the legal departments of the two countries. 

Separately, Serzh Sargsyan once again expressed his sincere support to the friendship people of Georgia, and regarding the flood that recently ravaged the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi. The President once again expressed Armenia’s readiness to provide assistance to Georgia, if necessary.

At the talk, Sargsyan stressed that Armenia is interested in accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, but also in the continuation of the development and deepening of Armenian-Georgian state relations.

Ministers Tsulukiani and Mgebrishvili, for their part, stated that they plan to maintain the current format of legal cooperation between Armenia and Georgia, make the aforementioned forum become traditional, exchange knowhow.
