YEREVAN. - Protestors have blocked Yerevan’s Mashtots Avenue, Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valery Osipyan announced in Baghramyan Avenue. He approached the protest organizers in Baghramyan Avenue and said that people have launched a sit-in in Mashtosts Avenue, having blocked it. (photos)

“If you don’t urge them to open Mashtots Avenue, we’ll do that by force of law,” Osipyan said. The activists responded that this happened spontaneously, and they hadn’t organized anything like that. “That started as a march, and we didn’t think people would sit in the street,” they said.
