YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Armed Forces did their best to ensure the stability of situation on the border, but the Azerbaijani side is again provoking tension on the border.

The adversary began shooting in the direction of the Armenian positions in Gorhayk residence of Armenia’s Syunik province on Nakhijavan border at 18:30 today, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, spokesperson for Armenia’s Defense Ministry, wrote in his Facebook page.

The adversary also used large caliber weapons and fired actively. The return fire by the Armenian side resulted in multiple losses of the adversary, but unfortunately Armenian soldier Arman Yepremyan, 1987, died during the struggle.

Armenian Defense Ministry offers condolences to the family and relatives of the soldier and says that the adversary’s actions will not remain without response.
