YEREVAN. - Incident took place in Baghramyan Avenue, where mass protest over electricity price hike is going on at the moment.

Clash took place in the avenue; two men dressed as civilians tried to spark a fight with the ‘No to Plunder’ initiative members, but the protestors rapidly prevented the incident. According to the protestors, some people wished to plot provocation.

Police quickly isolated those people, who according to the activists were police officers, and are now among the police chain.

Armenia Deputy Chief of Police Hunan Poghosyan declined to comment, saying he will give clarifications later.

Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valery Osipyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the incident has been smoothed out,.

According to him, nothing serious took place.

Speaking of the possible actions of the police, Osipyan urged to wait, saying that the situation in Baghramyan Avenue is calm now. Even Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan has left the Avenue.
