YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Saturday signed a decree on posthumously awarding the Medal for Bravery to conscript, Private Arman Yepremyan.

The medal is awarded to the Armenian soldier in recognition of his bravery and selflessness on the line of duty while defending the borders of the homeland, and under life-threatening risks.

On Friday at around 6:30pm, the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire in the Nakhichevan (Azerbaijan) direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border by opening fire in the direction of the Armenian positions located nearby the Gorhayk settlement of Armenia’s Syunik Province.

But as a result of the retaliatory actions by the position-holding subdivisions of the Armenian Armed Forces, the firing positions of the adversary were silenced.

According to the operative data received, a separate army unit of Nakhichevan has casualties and injuries. Unfortunately, Armenian Armed Forces’ conscript, Private Arman Yepremyan, 28, also sustained a fatal gunshot wound during the exchange of fire.
