YEREVAN. – The Kommersant newspaper informed that Russian state-owned company Inter RAO UES, which is the proprietor of the “Electric Networks of Armenia” (ENA) CJSC, may put the ENA up for sale, and Tashir Group owner Samvel Karapetyan, or another Russian Armenian tycoon, may become a possible buyer, reported Zhamanak daily.

“According to the paper, finding a new buyer will not be an easy job.

“However, our sources close to the [Armenian] authorities note that there is no shortage of buyers of the ENA, and there are very major contenders that are ready to buy the ENA from the [aforesaid] Russian company.

“According to our source, companies with US and European capital are also interested in the ENA. But as long as Inter RAO UES is the proprietor of the ENA, the authorities are unable to make any decision on the sale of the company,” wrote Zhamanak.
