YEREVAN. – The National Assembly of Armenia on Thursday convened a special session.

There is but one item on the session’s agenda: ratification of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental agreement wherewith Armenia will be given a state export loan.

During the talk on June 26 between President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Transportation Minister of Russia Maksim Sokolov—who is also co-chairman of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission—, it was announced that a US$200 million Russian loan will be provided to Armenia to purchase modern weaponry.
