YEREVAN. – President of the Armenian National Assembly Galust Sahakyan on Friday received Mary A. Papazian, President of the Southern Connecticut State University.

Welcoming the guest in the National Assembly, Mr. Sahakyan pointed out effective cooperation between the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and the Southern Connecticut State University. As President of the ASPU Governmental Board, Galust Sahakyan expressed hope that cooperation will further deepen as a result of programs that will be implemented jointly.

Underlining that the education is one of priority directions in Armenia, Galust Sahakyan presented the peculiarities of Armenia's education, noting that at present work is being carried out to bring Armenia's higher educational institutions in compliance with the international educational standards.

Mary A. Papazian presented the history, the structure, the programs and future plans of the university. President of the Southern Connecticut State University welcomed the agreements reached to develop cooperation with the Armenian State Pedagogical University and highlighted the efforts and contribution by the ASPU President Ruben Mirzakhanyan.

The President of Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) Ruben Mirzakhanyan accompanied the guest.
