The Department of Investigation of Armenia’s Syunik Province is conducting an investigation to find out all the details of the death of a young man.

The Police of Armenia received a report on Thursday that a resident of the aforementioned province had drowned at around 4pm, and while swimming in the reservoir of the Vorotan river.

According to preliminary data, Spandaryan village resident Apetnak Petrosyan, 21, and two friends had gone to an area of Sarnakunk village at around 3pm, and ate food and drank vodka together. At around 4pm, Petrosyan had entered the abovementioned reservoir in the same area to swim, but he had drowned.

External examination found no traces of violence and physical injuries on the young man’s body.

A forensic medical examination is commissioned to determine the cause of death.

Witness accounts were taken from the other youth that had gone to the area together with Petrosyan.

Instructions were given to the Sisian Police Department to find other possible witnesses and determine the particulars of this incident.
