YEREVAN. - Armenian authorities must meet at least one of the protestors’ demands before Monday, 21:00, Davit Sansaryan, one of the coordinators of protest against electricity price hike read in his statement, in response to which the protestors scanned “Yes!” and “Free, independent Armenia.”

Sanasaryan also mentioned that otherwise they will start the “One step forward” action. “These rubbish bins which have turned to barricades serve as a symbol to us. And if we get no response to at least one of our demands, we will every new day at 21.00 move the bins a step forward towards Baghramyan Avenue,” Sansaryan said.

According to him, they haven’t come for a fight, are continuing their peaceful struggle and are beginning the decisive stage of the protest. He once again presented the main demands of the protestors, which are as follows:

- Cancel the anti-social decision on electricity tariff rise,

- Punish those who used force against peaceful protestors and journalists,

- Reconsider the tariff with the view of reducing it.

Sanasaryan also said they have to take measures since the people demand this. “We didn’t want to hurry, but consequently the number of protestors has reduced. This is exactly what the authorities want and they doubt our decisiveness,” Sansaryan said, urging to avoid provocations, the possibility of which the activists do not exclude.
