The Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Danelia, on Monday arrived in Armenia on a two-day working visit. The Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Sergo Karapetyan, welcomed his Georgian colleague.

Daniela visited several farms in Armenia, and which are equipped with the latest technologies.

The two ministers on Monday toured the natural juice, tea, and canned jam production facilities of “Ararat” Food Factory. Next, they headed toward the Golden Grape Armas company, which is engaged in agricultural activities.

In the words of the Armenian agriculture minister, their Georgian associates are primarily interested in studying the Armenian track-record in the development of cannery, and fish and livestock farms, and in the avenues for using this track-record in their country.

Karapetyan added that a return visit to Georgia is expected.

The Georgian agriculture minister, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the high level of agricultural sector in Armenia. Danelia expressed confidence that there is great potential in Armenia-Georgia cooperation in agriculture and exports and that this potential needs to be used.

The Armenian and Georgian ministers of agriculture on Tuesday paid visits to a fish farm in the Ararat Province and the greenhouses of the Spayka company. Subsequently, they went to a livestock complex in Jermuk city.
