YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday received Iran's Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Ali Jannati who is in Armenia to participate in UNESCO International Conference “Cultural Policy and Policy for Culture”.

President Sargsyan leader stressed that Armenian and Iranian friendly nations have made a considerable contribution to the world cultural heritage through their long history and have shared traits.

The sides noted that bilateral ties in culture create solid basis for development of political and economic relations between Armenia and Iran.

According to the interlocutors, there are no barriers to the development of relations.

“The difficulties are temporary, while our friendship is eternal. We must do everything to strengthen and expand the Armenian-Iranian relations for the benefit of two nations and culture,” President Sargsyan said.

The President added that cultural relations between Armenia and Iran are developing dynamically and cover almost all areas - cinema, theater, literature.

Serzh Sargsyan thanked the Iranian authorities for their work towards the preservation of Armenian cultural heritage, assuring that Armenia shows the same attitude toward Iranian cultural and historical monuments.
