YEREVAN. – Humanity is unable to solve the problems linked to climate change, environmentalist and geographer Karine Danielyan stated at a press conference on Saturday.
“Humanity has not managed to solve the Earth’s adverse changes—the increase in the number of disasters and risks, [and] climate change,” said Danielyan. “That’s why countries have joined, and called upon the entire world to develop green economy for sustainable development.
“This is how the post-Rio+20 process develops. Thirty countries have developed seventeen objectives, nine of which—environmental.”
Under this program, a decade of sustainable production and consumption is announced, and Armenia has joined this initiative.
The environmentalist added that the country’s main environmental problem is the subsoil.
