YEREVAN. – The Public Services Regulatory Commission’s decision, according to which the electricity price in the Republic of Armenia (RA) will rise by 6.93 drams per cubic meter, has entered into force on August 1, reported Haykakan Zhamanak daily.

“The RA Government, however, as is known, will subsidize this added part of the tariff.

“Yesterday [i.e. Monday], our correspondent tried to find out from the ENA [i.e. the Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC] by what mechanism the Armenian consumer will be informed how much he will pay, [and] how much the government will subsidize for the electricity he consumes.

‘“At the moment, we are working with the RA Government to figure out the mechanism by which the residents should be explained how they will pay the electricity fees,’ responded ENA Spokesperson Natalya Sarjanyan,” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
