YEREVAN. - The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Monday extended congratulations to the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.

Sargsyan expressed his best wishes on the occasion of the Ukrainian National Day.

On August 24, Ukraine marks the 24th anniversary of the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine from the ex-Soviet Union.

This act was adopted by the Ukrainian parliament on August 24, 1991, and it established Ukraine as an independent state.
