YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily has learned that there is confusion among the political parties of Armenia because it is already known that if President Serzh Sargsyan manages to make the new draft Constitution pass, a “rating electoral system” will be applied in the National Assembly elections, reported the daily.
“According to preliminary incomplete information, the authorities plan to apply a mix of proportional and majority electoral systems.
“As a result, the non-RPA [i.e. ruling Republican Party of Armenia] MPs that are elected with the majority [electoral system] are in uncertainty, and they do not know what will be their fate,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
