Russia’s President Putin considers it possible to create a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Egypt.

“We have arranged to make joint efforts to weaken the impact of external factors and to move the turnover of goods into the path of sustainable growth. Among specific measures to stimulate the economy are the possible creation of a free trade zone between the EEU and Egypt, the use of national currency in mutual estimates and contribution to the investment cooperation,” Putin said after the talks with his Egypt counterpart Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi in Moscow, TASS reports.

As reported earlier by a source in the Embassy of Egypt, the country expects the visit of the EEU delegation. The meeting is scheduled for not later than 10 September. The main topic of the talks will be the possibility to create a free trade zone.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi arrived in Moscow on Tuesday. This has been his third visit since his inauguration in June 2014.
